The people of this country are sick and tired of government, at all levels, controlling, regulating and taxing our property, lives, and businesses, far beyond the original intent and spirit of our nation’s founding documents.

Today, we are offered a “choice” (really a non-choice), between Socialist Party A, and Socialist Party B (Republicans and Democrats) – really two (2) arms of the same power – we call them Republicrats. They both talk of “change”, but there is no change, nor will there be.

We (our party and myself) believe in the Americanist principles of individual liberty, individual responsibility, and limited government. If these principles were applied to the workings of local government (in this case, Ypsilanti City Government), as they should be, the City would be out of debt, running smoothly, at a surplus, and not looking for ever-new ways to burden its citizens with its own inability to run itself and its affairs competently.
In short, I offer you a choice, your only true choice, for the future. Otherwise, you will get the same-old same old, masking as “choices”, but, in reality, no choices at all.
If you, the voters, haven’t found that out by now, will you ever?

TO THE EDITOR:
The Rosenbergs were not “alleged” spies, nor were they “wrongfully charged”, as McPhail and the paper say (P. 1A, Free Press, 6/24/08 [The article reference is printed below in blue]). The Rosenbergs were tried, and convicted, of espionage, and passing atomic secrets to the Soviet Union. The only ones who said they were innocent, and maintain their innocence to this day, were the Rosenbergs themselves, and the Communists who supported them, and still support them. McPhail should get her facts, and history, straight, and so should the Free Press, though asking the latter is probably asking too much.
But to compare the two cases (of the Rosenbergs and Mayor Kilpatrick) is disingenuous and deceitful, in the extreme, and does a great disservice to our young people, who cannot be expected to know the truth about the so-called “Red Scare” period of the 1950’s, given the sources for history that they have access to today. Probably McPhail herself doesn’t know it (the truth). In which case she should shut her mouth about such matters, and not suffer the taxpayers to pay for her ignorance.

Likening the Detroit City Council's effort to oust Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to the 1950s Red Scare-era prosecution of alleged spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, Kilpatrick's general counsel asked Gov. Jennifer Granholm on Monday to delay any removal effort until the mayor's criminal case is resolved.
Sharon McPhail, the mayor's lawyer, also renewed the argument that the Detroit City Council's 5-4 vote to ask Granholm to oust Kilpatrick is flawed, asserting the council needed a two-thirds majority.
Efforts to remove the mayor are an abuse of power, she said.
"From the wrongful charges leveled at the Rosenbergs in 1953 to the more recent release of wrongfully charged and convicted death row prisoners in Illinois, it is clear that officials sworn to uphold the law will use their power to persecute, and prosecute, without regard to the law," she wrote. "This is such a case."
Council President Ken Cockrel Jr., whom McPhail has accused of angling to become mayor with the removal efforts, called McPhail's remarks a ludicrous effort to deflect attention from the real issue -- the ruining of three cops' careers and the mayor's later scheme to pay them $8.4 million to conceal his damaging text messages with former aide Christine Beatty.
In 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for passing nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union. The Rosenbergs maintained their innocence, and the passion of their supporters carried on for decades afterward, even as new evidence emerged that lent credence to the government's case, particularly against Julius Rosenberg.
In her letter to Kelly Keenan, Granholm's legal counsel, McPhail said Kilpatrick's pending criminal case would prevent him from participating in a hearing before the governor. She asked that if the hearings go forward, she be given an opportunity to argue for a dismissal of the case.
Bill Goodman, the independent attorney hired by the council to assist in its investigation of the text message scandal, said McPhail should explain why Kilpatrick cannot participate, and he argued that others could testify on Kilpatrick's behalf. He said he doesn't need Kilpatrick to prove the council's case.
Goodman and parliamentary experts have disputed McPhail's point that the rules of parliamentary procedure required the council to obtain a two-thirds majority vote to ask the governor to step in. They say that the city's charter and applicable law trump such rules.
Goodman noted that, under state law, the governor may hold hearings on whether to remove a public official for misconduct based on the request of only a single person -- be it a public official or private citizen.

The government of Communist China is the most brutal dictatorship in history, having murdered more people than any government in history.

In the meantime, American businessmen and Corporations are falling all over themselves, drooling at the opportunity to make a buck off of the Communist regime, and the Olympic Games, not giving a damn about their complicity in the political, religious, and physical oppression of the Chinese people.
In our judgment, they, and the U.S. Government, will have to answer for that.
A Reply to Al Gore
President John Adams said, “Let us dare to read, think, speak and write.” On
In his speech, a prayerful Al Gore tells us that man-made global warming will result in dire consequences if we do not take drastic action immediately. In our country, today, Gore’s view is held by a seemingly innumerable army of environmental Luddites, who think that by not taking elevators, or by using only 5 squares of toilet paper per day, they can “save the planet” from some impending catastrophe, which is real only in the specious computer projections of politically motivated “scientists”, who can’t even get a 5 day weather forecast right, let alone projections about what is going to happen in the year 2050. But there are many scientists who disagree with Al Gore and his fear mongering minions.
John Coleman is the founder of the Weather Channel. His meteorological experience spans more than half a century. On
If you visit www.oism.org/pproject, you can view the names of 19,000 scientists who signed a petition containing the statement: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate.”
If you Google search the title “The Great Global Warming Swindle”, you will find a link enabling you to view a one hour and fifteen minute documentary, which was aired on British television. Scientists from around the world are interviewed, each presenting scientific data that support conclusions which contradict Al Gore’s message.

There is no scientific consensus on the effects of global warming. Yet the mainstream media, Al Gore, UN bureaucrats, blathering politicians, and the darlings of
Worse yet, many warmaholics don’t care if their science is false. Christine Stewart,
Climate alarmist Stephen Schneider commented in Discover magazine in October 1989: “To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and little mention of any doubts one might have. Each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective, and being honest.”
Ross Gelbspan, an author with a long newspaper career with the Philadelphia Bulletin, Boston Globe, and Washington Post instructed an audience in the nation’s capital: “Not only do journalists not have a responsibility to report what skeptical scientists have to say about global warming. They have a responsibility not to report what those scientists say.” (Emphasis in the original.)
Many people have a lot to lose if the global warming scare is exposed to be the fraud that it is. Global warming has given rise to a profitable, multi-billion dollar industry. There are scientists who rely on the millions of research grant dollars available from governments and private foundations, for the study of the negative effects of global warming. And many scientists and journalists have built their professions around sounding the global warming alarm. Indeed, certain newspapers have staked their reputation on it. But beyond all of this, Mikhail Gorbachev, one of the early global warming prophets, tells us what is really behind the massive flood of global warming propaganda drowning us each day.
Mikhail Gorbachev was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the
In 1995, Gorbachev insisted that the only hope for saving our planet lay in “the development and implementation of an Earth Charter, a body of international ecological laws that would guide the actions of individuals, corporations and governments… The time has come for a code of ethical and moral principles that will govern the conduct of nations and people with respect to the environment.” [Grassroots, quoted by Holly Swanson in Set Up and Sold Out: Find Out What Green Really Means (White City, Ore.: CIN, 1995), p. 277.]
On
Up until now, most environmental causes had only local or regional effects. But, global warming is a world wide threat, we are told. Global warming knows no borders. Thus, global problems require global solutions. Global warming has supposedly created the necessity for global government! This will not appear in the article in your local newspaper, below the picture of the 13-year-olds tossing around an earth globe during an Earth Day activity, but some of the world’s most powerful and influential people believe it, and are putting a large part of their sizable resources into the effort to make you believe it.
As it turns out, after all of the evidence is presented, the entire Global Warming movement, for which Al Gore is the poster boy, is not science at all. It is Political Science. Or, to re-phrase Bill Clinton’s 1992 Campaign slogan: “It’s the Politics, stupid”.
